Part-time General Instructor - Swim Lessons

Worthington Parks and Recreation is hiring a Part-Time General Instructor to teach Swim Lessons - Starting salary is $18.49/hr. This position is responsible for planning and instructing swim lessons for children and adults age 6 months and older. This is a year-round position and offers a flexible schedule with weekend availability. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and customer service skills, and a positive attitude.

Duties include:

Ensure safety of all participants in activities

Lesson plan in accordance with WPRD established swim lesson curriculum

Instruct quality swim lessons for children and adults age 6 months and older

Maintain good communication with staff, participants, and parents

Demonstrate positive attitude and enthusiasm

Able to evaluate participant performance and coach appropriately in a group setting

Respond appropriately during emergency situations

Maintain accurate reports including incidents, accidents, and cleaning inspections

Operate general office equipment such as: copier, fax machine, computers

Minimum Qualifications include:

Previous experience instructing swim lessons

American Red Cross CPR/AED & Basic First Aid Certification preferred but can be obtained after hiring.

Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs.
