PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF JOB
Operates multi-web disc machine meeting or exceeding safety standards, production schedule requirements, and customer specification requirements.
RESPONSABILITIES
Work safely at all times following Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), safe work practice policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Make necessary adjustments to machine controls (heat seal, die pressure, registration) to maintain high quality standards.
Remove and replace die modules as required by job specifications.
Operates equipment with minimal to no supervision
Set-up and change over machine as required.
Verifies product passes qualification process after change over or start up.
Maintains and performs daily/weekly/annual clean up to meet SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
Cleans sealing head.
Responsible for loading of material as required (load stock, PET film, tab material, board). Verify proper material is being used.
Meet or exceed standards set for equipment
Perform quality checks and enter data into NWA
Record production/downtime data accurately in PI and BPCS system
Continuously monitor the quality of the product being produced.
Complete cold start up and shut down procedures, start and stop the machine and clear jams without assistance
Troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions, call for maintenance when needed.
Communicate and train other operators and assistants
Uses various hand tools
Reject poor quality material by filling out proper rejection forms for QA
Participate in Lean Events as scheduled
Able to work as required by production demands
Uses equipment in the performance of their job (hoist, Big Joe, pallet jack)
Use of measuring device(s) to include tape measure
Carries out environmental compliance tasks, as appropriate to the position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSABILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility
EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the operation of industrial machinery (experience performing adjustments and repairs in a production environment) web press is highly desired.
Posses mechanical aptitude abilities
Understand and be able to read product specifications and make changes as necessary
Ability to read/write in English; capable of acting to written or verbal instruction
Basic understanding of math concept to complete production reporting requirements
Must possess basic computer skills for use of systems: BPCS, TWI, Pi, Filemaker, NWA software
Must have good communication, problem solving and decision making skills
Knowledge of small hand tools and how to use them correctly
Prior training and current understanding of Lockout Tag out concepts
Must be able to understand the readings in a tape measure
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs to shoulder height.

ENVIRONMENT
Will spend 100% of time on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels which will require the use of personal protective equipment including (but not limited to) hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
