Due to MSG's continued growth in our Civil/Municipal Division, a new opening is available for a Project Engineer in Columbus, OH!

Key Responsibilities

Work in conjunction with licensed design professionals assisting with the design and preparation of a variety of public and private development projects, including commercial, industrial, residential, energy, water/waste water and community projects throughout the Midwest.

Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across a variety of service sectors including: Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Site Construction, etc.

Perform and check various design calculations and performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package.

Preparing front end feasibility documents, due diligence reports and zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates and detailed design plans.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Practical experience in design and plan preparation of site development projects.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture or related engineering field

EI certification in the state of Ohio, with the ability to obtain PE or PLA certification within 6 to 12 months.

Experience with researching and applying various agency design standards to civil engineering projects to successfully achieve approvals.

Ability to apply guidelines and specifications. (i.e., City of Columbus and surrounding counties, ODOT, and etc.)

Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D grading and pipe networks as well as plan set preparation required.

Proficiency in independent preparation of Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports is preferred.

Roadway design and survey experience are a plus.

Utility design or utility field inspection experience a plus.

The ability to engage reviewing agencies while preparing technical designs and addressing comments is a critical part of our process.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating and coordinating with review agencies.
