Cannery Packaging Operator

Mars Petcare - Columbus, OH Cannery Packaging Operator Pay: $26.07/HR + 1.50 shift premium * Additional total rewards benefits below Required Shift: 3rd Shift: Monday- Friday 11pm-7:30am Job Purpose: The Cannery Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained.

The packaging operator will also play a pivotal role in identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements: * High school diploma or GED * Mechanical Aptitude * Understanding of computer software's (EX: MS Office, email) Physical Requirements: * Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.). * Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping.

* Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment.

* Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift). * Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production needs and to conduct multi-task work in a very fast paced work environment * Ability to read, write and understand English Preferred Requirements: * Technical degree or certification * 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing role * Previous experience in a packaging department What will be your Key Responsibilities?

* Maintain excellent packaging line efficiency in line with the set plan and escalate any deviation from standard or plan * Ensure safe, correct operation of all packing lines equipment and plant * Responsible for the achievement of packaging score * Ensure cleaning regimes are upheld and fulfilled to the highest standard * Actively participate in Operational processes that support the improvement of our business performance * Monitor/test adherence to standards, ensuring breaches are resolved in a timely and effective way and communication is maintained with the relevant stake holders.
