The Position

The Product Development (PD) organization at Roche focuses on developing innovative products that make a meaningful difference for patients worldwide. This team is a critical part of Roche's mission, and the People & Culture (P&C) team within PD is essential for fostering the talent and culture required to achieve these ambitious goals.

This temporary, 12-month rotation role is for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner who will act as a strategic partner to the Global PD P&C team and PD Business Leaders. The position demands a business leader and entrepreneurial mindset, focusing on translating strategic business needs into P&C strategies, driving major change initiatives, and fostering a strong leadership culture. The successful candidate will receive coaching and guidance from Monika Meier Schmid and the broader Product Development BP team in Basel.

The Opportunity

As the P&C Business Partner, you'll be instrumental in shaping the People & Culture strategy and execution within Product Development. Your core responsibilities will include:

Aligning the P&C strategy with business goals, providing guidance on talent management, workforce strategy, and organization design.

Leveraging human capital to drive organizational value and acting as a strategic partner and coach to foster VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) leadership.

Translating the business vision into actionable projects and leading change initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.

Gathering and analyzing data to make informed decisions, diagnosing root causes of work environment issues, and leveraging digital tools.

Recommending innovative P&C solutions to support the strategic direction of the organization.

Focusing on building a diverse, inclusive work culture with psychological safety.

Partnering flexibly within a network model, leveraging the wider P&C system ("chapters") for business impact.

Who You Are

You are an adaptable, strategic, and data-driven P&C leader who is passionate about driving significant mindset and behavior transformations across a global organization. The ideal candidate must have:

A demonstrated passion for and role-modeling of VACC leadership, with high self-awareness and proven ability to act as a coach/mentor.

Existing knowledge of Basel / Roche HQ policies and regulations is a strong advantage

Proven skill in diagnosing P&C needs and leading large-scale global initiatives and change management.

Strategic influence: the ability to influence with courageous authenticity and build trust with business leaders.

The ability to leverage digital tools and data for collaboration and informed decision-making (Tech Savviness).

A focus on cultural change, with a commitment to inclusion, belonging and psychological safety.
