Domestic sales channels have aggressive growth plans in place to deliver customer number growth in an increasingly competitive market. The Area Sales and Development Manager (ASDM) will oversee and coordinate the deployment of venue pop-up and field sales channels, manage budgets, and ensure the effective delivery of domestic sales activities
The ASDM role is varied, complex, demanding and challenging. As a self-starter with the ability to work independently, you may be required to travel to meet with internal stakeholders and external partners. You will also be required to plan and manage your time to account for competing priorities in line with compliance, training and sales delivery plans.
What you'll be doing
Co-ordination and deployment of sales activities, budget control and reporting in domestic sales channels
In conjunction with Business to Business / Channel Development Managers, you will be required to roll-out the operating plan and prioritise the implementation of strategies to develop the business and move forward with the pursuit of domestic channel and departmental goals
Review of performance on a frequent basis, account managing and maintaining relationships with sales partnerships
Challenge as appropriate where targets are not met and implement necessary remedial action
All visits to partners must be conducted in line with channel compliance requirements
Support the acquisition and retention of valuable customers in conjunction with Marketing through the delivery of pro-active strategies to engage with customers that encourages them to stay with ScottishPower for the longer term
Required to travel to meet with both internal stakeholders and external partners and to plan and manage time to account for competing priorities whilst managing stakeholders’ expectations
What you'll bring
The role requires a broad range of skills to deliver strategies that will achieve business objectives including, sales, financial, added value and quality targets across a diverse range of activities involving sales partners specifically the following:
Relationship management skills given the dependency on internal resources and external third parties for success
The ability to understand complexity quickly and make decisions with confidence and clarity based on that understanding
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to support reporting, analysis, and presentation needs.
Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, coordinating, and delivering projects to achieve business objectives. Ability to manage timelines, resources, and stakeholders effectively within a fast-paced and changing environment.
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently of others - the ASDM role is one that is complex, demanding and challenging
Ability to influence a wide portfolio of stakeholders with differing interests
Requires a high level of knowledge, tact and diplomacy both in written and oral communication in order to be seen as credible and argue ScottishPower’s position with vigour and to achieve the preferred outcome
Strong understanding of the Energy marketplace and its commercial value
Ability to prioritise work and deliver results whilst managing multiple stakeholders and competing demands within a rapidly changing environment
Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
While not mandatory, it would be advantageous to possess a full UK Driving Licence due to the nature of the role/travel requirement
To be successful in a role you will need to demonstrate as minimum:
Good verbal and written skills
Strong influencing and stakeholder management ability
Highly numerate and analytical
Sales focused, strong understanding of the value of service and customer engagement
Considerable experience in a Sales/Service roles
Flexibility to travel as and when required
