Job Title: Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Preston / Warton; Lancashire.

Referral Scheme Bonus: £1000

Grade: GG10

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting the organisation’s IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms

Designing, deploying and maintaining servers, storage, networking and security systems

Installing, configuring and deploying IT hardware in line with infrastructure hosting requirements

Investigating and diagnosing issues by gathering information from physical and digital sources, reviewing platform or assembly defects, and identifying all contributing factors

Administering a virtualised production environment using industry-standard tools

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

Installing, configuring and supporting Windows and/or Linux operating systems

Demonstrating a detailed understanding of network architecture, with a focus on Palo Alto firewall and network security technologies

Applying in-depth knowledge of hypervisor technologies, including VMware, VxRail and Hyper-V

Using a range of IT administration and management applications

Desirable:

Administering virtualisation and cloud platforms, including Citrix and thin client technologies

Understanding and applying cyber security methodologies

The Infrastructure Engineering Team:

You’ll be joining a collaborative team dedicated to delivering new enabling capabilities, developing and supporting systems and services, and resolving infrastructure issues with speed and precision. We partner closely with our internal engineering and product teams, bridging the gap between infrastructure and software development to drive efficiency through high levels of automation.
