Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will support data center and facilities operations by performing preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, and equipment installations in a construction and startup environment. This position ensures all technical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments with proper PPE.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within the data center and facility operations.
Conduct daily site inspections of all mechanical and engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, and power systems.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond to alarms or emergency repairs as needed.
Support new building startups and installations of mechanical/electrical systems and equipment.
Assist with equipment hookups, power readings, and initial system checks.
Work closely with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
Complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks on all assigned equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation, maintenance logs, and asset checklists.
Report safety hazards and non-compliance issues promptly to management.
Follow all safety policies, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
Participate in on-site team meetings, training sessions, and equipment orientation.
Support construction teams in completing startup and commissioning activities.
Required Experience:
3–5 years of general maintenance experience in industrial, construction, or data center environments.
Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and documentation.
Strong troubleshooting skills for basic electrical and system issues.
Experience working safely in construction and outdoor environments.
Required Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
NFPA 70E, CPR, or Electrical certification preferred.
OSHA safety certification a plus.
