Learn the layout of the warehouse and where product sits for each customer
Keeps a clean workstation: sweep/take out trash/breakdown boxes end of day
Learning warehouse software
Assign tasks: Distribute work orders and tasks to team members at the beginning of a shift and throughout the day. Pick and pack daily orders in a timely manner for same day shipping.
Ensure all tasks are completed in a given day before leaving at the end of the day.
Coach and motivate: Monitor the productivity and quality of the team, offering coaching to help them meet daily goals.
Supervise workflow: Ensure an efficient workflow by prioritizing tasks based on shipping deadlines, order volume, and labor availability.
Quality control and operational oversight
Order accuracy: Perform audits and spot-checks to ensure that all customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.
Inventory control: Monitor inventory flow, oversee product transfers, and assist with inventory counts or cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
Problem-solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that have been escalated by other team members, including damaged goods or shipping errors.
Documentation: Ensure all required documentation, such as shipping manifests or transfer paperwork, is completed accurately.
Safety and compliance
Enforce safety protocols: Actively monitor the warehouse floor to ensure that all safety procedures are being followed by team members.
Equipment checks: Inspect equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, to ensure they are in proper working order.
Maintain cleanliness: Help maintain an orderly, clean, and safe working environment.
Communication and coordination
Liaise with management: Report issues, monitor trends, and provide real-time updates on operational status to supervisors and managers.
Collaborate with other departments: Work with teams like customer service, procurement, and logistics to address order issues or delays.
