Pay rate: 20.80 - 23.47 /hr

About the Role

Midway Staffing is seeking a Material Handler Lead for a high-volume distribution warehouse in Hazleton, PA. This role is critical in supporting daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring safety compliance, and supervising productivity. The ideal candidate will bring warehouse leadership experience, strong equipment skills, and the ability to work independently while guiding others.

Note: This position requires 4 weeks of paid training in Chicago. All travel, lodging, and meals will be fully covered by the company.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, unload, and tag incoming parts and equipment.

Operate forklifts, walkies, and RF scanners safely and efficiently.

Pull and stage parts for production; resolve shortages when needed.

Build and break down pallets for incoming and outgoing stock.

Pick, verify, and stage customer orders to ensure accuracy.

Package and prepare items for cost-effective shipment.

Cross dock freight and oversee outbound shipping processes.

Support lean warehouse operations and quality management procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

Lead by example in enforcing safety and operational standards.

Assist supervisors/managers with daily productivity goals and tasks.

Qualifications

2–4 years of warehouse experience; prior leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred.

High school diploma or GED required; warehouse certifications a plus.

Strong forklift skills (sit-down, walkie); certification preferred.

Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF technology.

Basic PC skills; comfortable with Microsoft Office and internal systems.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Flexibility to work overtime or cover shifts as needed.

Willingness to travel for training (4 weeks in Chicago, company-paid).

Physical Requirements

Able to lift up to 60 lbs consistently.

Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for 8+ hour shifts.
