Position Overview
The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department ( at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor or associate professor (before tenure) appointment in the research areas of power electronics, AI & data-driven controls for power systems, and other areas of interest within ECE. The research area must complement the current research portfolio. This position will start as early as August 15, 2026. We also encourage individuals whose work qualifies them for promotion to associate professor, but who have not yet obtained tenure, to apply. The position is open to applicants who may require sponsorship for a visa or other work authorization.

High-quality high-impact research in the domain of power electronics, AI & data-driven controls for power systems, and other areas of interest within ECE
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within ECE
Advise undergraduate and graduate students in ECE towards successful completion of their degree programs

Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
A Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field.
Evidence of demonstrated efforts in research, teaching, and/or outreach and engagement that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values.
Evidence of research publications in top journals and conferences within the field of interest.
Potential to attract and mentor graduate students
Potential to teach and supervise undergraduate students from all backgrounds.

ECE faculty, researchers and students engineer solutions to problems in diverse fields, from bio- to nanotechnology, from energy to mobility, from health sciences to communication, and beyond.
