Job Description
The Retail Area Manager, directly reporting to the General Manager Southern Europe, will be responsible for the strategic and tactical management of the assigned Stores across Italy, both full price and outlet channels. He/she will be responsible for driving the sales growth and exploring new business opportunities, acting as an impactful leader working cross functionally to drive and further develop a profitable business.
Key Accountabilities
Strategy and sales management
Developing a strategy for maximizing sales, revenues and global efficacy to ensure that Gucci’s targets and objectives are met
Profit & Loss accountability for costs saving measures and initiatives to guarantee an high productivity level
Proposing innovative strategies to better fit the retail business expansion and needs
Developing actions, events and partner collaborations
Business development - collaborating with external business partners to develop the market
Stores planning and forecasting
Analyzing data, KPIs and figures to formulate a strategy and propositions
Forecasting future sales volumes for maximizing profits
Studying and interpreting trends to facilitate people and store performance planning
Analysis and Monitoring
Managing and controlling data analysis to drive business results
Monitoring detailed sales and stock for each store, maximizing sales and results by store through collaboration with the Merchandising and Store Leadership team for a better understanding of each market
Close monitoring progress of business activities
Competitor analysis to improve business performance and ensure stores are best in class
Inventory activities
Supervising activities of inventory management
Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control in partnership with the Retail Operations Management and the Store Leaderships
Collaborating with Retail Operations to ensure store stock optimization and project roll outs are successful
Analyzing selling trends
People leadership
Leading, coaching and motivating store leadership teams to maintain high standard levels of performance, increase sales and ensure efficiency
Work closely with HR and Store Leaders on Recruitment and Talent Management
Collaborating with Training in order to identify market training and learning needs
Evaluating performance throughout appraisals and performance reviews
Store visits and openings
Visiting stores to understand business performance, client sentiment and engage with clients
Ensuring your market has the best in class levels customer service, quality and safety
Creating a culture of ethics and leading by example in the observation of Gucci policies
Executing new store openings – working cross functionally to ensure deadlines are met
Exploiting new business opportunities
Collaborating cross functionally to ensure Retail excellence standards are maintained in your market

Key requirements
At least 10+ years of relevant experience in the luxury/fashion industry;
Strong understanding of sales in a luxury retail environment;
Strong people management skills including being a good communicator & coach and the ability to manage relationships at different levels;
Must be a good team player, detail minded, service oriented;
Ability to develop strong relationships built on respect and trust;
Proficient in Italian and English.
