Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Manager to join a hospital-based pharmacy leadership team. This role combines clinical oversight, staff development, and academic mentorship. You’ll also serve as the Residency Program Director (RPD) for an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Clinical Pharmacy Specialists (CPS), manage schedules, and ensure optimal staffing
Maintain an active clinical pharmacy practice and demonstrate leadership in medication safety and quality initiatives
Design and implement clinical pharmacy programs and department policies
Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and hospital leadership to achieve system-wide goals
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for CPS team
Provide on-call support and contribute to direct patient care when needed
Oversee all aspects of the PGY1 Residency Program, including accreditation compliance, preceptor development, and resident mentorship
Foster a culture of learning and professional growth within the pharmacy team
Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 Residency (PGY2 in Pharmacy Administration preferred)
Minimum 3 years of post-residency hospital pharmacy experience with supervisory responsibilities
Registered Pharmacist license in the State of New Jersey (required upon hire)
Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire)
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Office-based role with occasional standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and use of PPE
Exposure to healthcare environments including blood, body fluids, and chemicals
Requires frequent communication, coordination, and use of clinical systems
