About the Role

Janitors at Farm and Forge are the familiar, friendly faces who keep our facilities safe, clean, and welcoming for athletes, students, staff, and guests. This is a hands-on role where pride in your work matters. If something looks out of place, you’re the one who makes it right.

This role is critical in keeping our spaces ready every day for athlete and member use. At launch in November 2025, you’ll support a 65,000 sq. ft. mixed-use building (tennis courts, office space, retail). This scope will expand as two additional 65,000 sq. ft. buildings, indoor + outdoor tennis courts (36 in total), and turf fields are completed in mid-2026 and beyond. Being a part of a start-up team means plenty of growth and advancement for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Facility-Wide Cleaning

Empty all trash/recycling bins and replace liners (indoors and outdoors); transport waste to dumpsters.

Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floors, including hard surfaces, carpet, and courts.

Dust and wipe surfaces such as windowsills, railings, ledges, and furniture.

Spot-clean walls, doors, and glass.

Perform deep cleaning of high-touch surfaces weekly.

Scrub/seal hard floors and dust vents/fans monthly.

Record completed tasks and supply needs in a logbook or digital system.

Report spills, hazards, or damage immediately.

Restrooms & Locker Rooms

Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, benches, and counters daily.

Restock soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Sweep and mop floors with disinfectant.

Perform weekly and monthly deep cleans (fixtures, drains, grout).

Food Service Area (Grab & Go Meals)

Sanitize counters, tables, and service areas daily.

Sweep and mop floors; disinfect trash/recycling bins.

Deep clean under/behind counters weekly and walls/vents monthly.

Athletic & Recreation Spaces

Sweep/vacuum indoor courts and spot-clean spills daily.

Wipe down/disinfect recreation equipment and mats.

Report any court surface, net, or equipment damage.

Mop/sanitize floors in gyms and studios after heavy use.

Common Areas, School & Offices

Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and reception/front desk areas.

Vacuum carpeted areas and dust furniture daily.

Clean interior glass and windows weekly.

Event Support

Assist with pre- and post-event cleaning of gyms, courts, and meeting spaces.

Manage extra trash removal and floor cleaning after gatherings.

Supplies & Equipment

Use and maintain janitorial equipment (mops, vacuums, sweepers).

Monitor stock of consumables (toilet paper, paper towels, soap) and request replenishment as needed.

Requirements

Prior commercial janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities cleaning experience required.

Experience in schools, gyms, recreational facilities, or with indoor tennis courts preferred.

Must pass a background check (due to youth programming).

Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to cleanliness and safety.

Friendly, professional demeanor as you’ll interact with staff, members, and guests regularly.

Must wear a uniform/ID and follow child-safe cleaning protocols.

Ability to communicate in English is required.Company Description
