Job Summary: The Physician provides licensed medical care including diagnosis, treatment (inclusive of surgery or pre/post-surgical care where appropriate), case management, and clinical research. The Physician manages complex and sometimes unpredictable situations. They must be competent in technical, clinical, and surgical skills (where appropriate), as well as cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve patients receiving these services. The Physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center policies, procedures, protocols, and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.
Job Description: The Havener Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University, is seeking applicants for a full-time comprehensive ophthalmologist with ophthalmic hospitalist duties at the assistant professor level or higher. The role focuses on inpatient and emergency department ophthalmologic care, teaching, limited clinical practice including ocular surgery (e.g., cataracts), and opportunities for research. Responsibilities include staffing surgeries from clinics, shared call coverage for ocular trauma (including ruptured globes), ophthalmic urgent care, inpatient bedside procedures, imaging, and the didactic and clinical training of residents. The position will be supported by a team of fellowship-trained ophthalmology subspecialists.
Required Qualifications: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified or eligible in the relevant specialization. Ohio state licensure and DEA registration are required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
