JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

This role is responsible for managing and performing Airworthiness Reviews (AR) on the RSAF Typhoon, including the aircraft’s continuing airworthiness (Part M) records. To Manage the establishment and maintenance of the Salam AR capability. Leading and directing AR team members, in the execution of the AR Plan also the jobholder is expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism, in the execution of their duties
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Airworthiness Review Manager is responsible for the airworthiness activities:
Establish and maintain the SALAM Airworthiness Review capability.
Generate and maintain a suite of AR documents, forms and procedures, aligned with M&CA and Salam CAME requirements.
Generate and maintain an AR plan / schedule, which is routinely reviewed and authorised by the Head of TTSS and the RSAF.
Review of applicable aircraft records in accordance with M&CA requirements.
Accomplishment of a physical aircraft survey on the applicable aircraft in accordance with M&CA requirements.
On satisfactory completion of an aircraft’s Airworthiness Review, make appropriate Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC) recommendations to the RSAF, via Head of TTSS.
Maintain the register of AR findings and coordinate their resolution.
Maintaining Aircraft Airworthiness Review Records.
Applications and communication with M&CA.
Ensuring that quality and safety standards of Aircraft are maintained to the highest standards.
Report any observed safety-related hazards and non-compliances, through appropriate channels.
Support as required local SHE and Product Safety managers.
Be familiar and comply with, local and corporate safety policies.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
An appropriate certifying staff approval or an aeronautical degree or national equivalent (or a further extensive proven experience. CA experience in lieu, in addition to the essential proven CA experience).
And
Formal aeronautical maintenance training such as a recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, OR Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
Desirable
Incorporated / Technician or Chartered Engineer with an appropriate professional institute such as Saudi Council of Engineers, Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.
RECRUITMENT
Essential
Extensive proven experience of Continuing Airworthiness (Note CA includes aircraft maintenance) and have held a position within an approved CA organisation with appropriate responsibilities.
Have substantial proven experience in a relevant management role.
A Practitioner level of Airworthiness Review skills.
A Practitioner level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness, the aircraft types managed and the aircraft maintenance environment.
A Practitioner level of skills in Technical Instructions management, aircraft modifications management and the management of CA Records.
Expert knowledge of aircraft maintenance and fault management, ideally Typhoon based.
At least a familiar level of knowledge of the aircraft maintenance environment.
Desirable
Typhoon Q Course.
Knowledge of the RSAF and M&CA regulations.
Experience of BAESSA, Salam operations and Typhoon maintenance.
A detailed understanding of Typhoon Engineering Support System and TrilogiView.
Knowledge of Life Cycle Management.
Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
Should be able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues.
