Children's Hospital Surgical Technologist
Join us as a Children's Hospital Surgical Technologist at WVU Medicine Children's.
This role involves providing intraoperative care, functioning as the scrub person assisting the surgical team during procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE:
Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse, completion of a Surgical Technology program, a Registered Nurse program, or a summer surgical tech externship, OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with two (2) years of scrub experience.
Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Surgical Technology experience is preferred.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining sterile fields, passing instruments, assisting with patient positioning, preparing supplies, sterilization, inventory management, and other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged standing and walking, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, push/pull carts up to 200 lbs, and wear lead aprons.
Work Environment
Varied shifts including 12-hour and 8-hour shifts, with some call shifts. Scheduled weekly hours are 40.
