Job Title: Medical Technologist - East Laboratory
Department: East Laboratory
Position Summary: The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine automated and manual procedures, verifies and reports test requests and results. Handles phone inquiries regarding patient results, specimen collection, and testing frequency. Uses the laboratory computer system to review reports and call critical values to healthcare professionals. Performs and documents quality control, quality assurance, and preventative maintenance on instrumentation. Provides training for new staff and medical technology students. Works under the direction of the Lab manager, lead technologist.
Additional Information: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Med Lab Science, or Biological Science. Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology within 1 year of hire. No experience required; 0-2 years preferred.
