Safe Children Coalition’s Family Finder Team is looking for a caring and motivated specialist to help children in foster care connect with their families. In this role, you’ll prepare and process potential OCS/ICPC home study requests for identified out of county and out of state relatives. Your work will help children feel safe, supported, and loved. PURPOSE:To identify, engage and recruit family members for children in foster care to establish connections or provide placement. To be an involved participant in supporting system development to positively impact out of home care outcomes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Agency lead on the implementation of the Family Finders program to identify and locate familial connections and possible placements for youth in Out of Home Care.· Increase public awareness with community partners as to efforts to locate familial connections for foster youth.· Assists in the development of staff, regarding the pursuit of family connections to children in Out of Home Care. · Facilitate and conducts Family Finders training. · Conduct home studies for identified potential family placements.· Prepare and process potential OCS/ICPC home study requests for identified out of county and out of state relatives.· Participation in case review consultations, as needed. · Meet regularly with Case Management Organization teams to ensure compliance and follow through of specific family finding tasks. · Monitor/work active case load and document efforts to achieve permanency in Florida Safe Families Network. · Attend court hearings to engage with biological parents to assess potential familial connections. · Document and track Family Finding efforts on internal tracking templates and reports.· Any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

pay rate of $21.00 per hour
Requirements:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field. Child Welfare Certification preferred. Minimum of two years social services experience preferred.
LIST OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be willing to use personal vehicle for agency business. Must carry adequate vehicle insurance acceptable to insurance standards. Must be comfortable being out and engaging with the community and engaging with system partners.
