Duties and Responsibilities
Performs preventative maintenance, operates, and tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions; checking blueprints, repair manuals, or catalogs, as necessary
Dismantles and troubleshoots machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools
Performs routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, gears, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance actions.
Repairs, cleans, and lubricates machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
Assembles, installs, or repairs wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
Plans and lays out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams
May align and balance new equipment after installation
May perform general handyman repairs or maintenance on the building, including grounds maintenance
Performs all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures
Maintains a clean, safe work area free of foreign materials
Participates in training and cross-training efforts as needed
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS
Industrial maintenance technician or mechanic experience
Ability to read, understand, and apply information from manuals or catalogs
Properly use a wide variety of tools (manual and power)
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated high level of quality in workmanship
Basic math, reading, and reasoning skills
Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral
Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Demonstrated multi-tasking ability to adjust priorities based on manufacturing needs
High attention to detail
Ability to work independently or with a team

Ability to work in proximity to moving, mechanical parts and machinery
