Overview:CNC Machinists perform set-up, dimensional inspection, and production operating tasks for a variety of equipment, including live-tool lathes, Swiss lathes, grinders, EDMs, mills, and machining centers.
Openings are on 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 4:00am.
15% shift differential Responsibilities: Candidates must: \nBe dependable with excellent attendance.\nThrive in a fast paced work environment.\nDemonstrate strong inter-personal skills while working in a team based environment.\nHave strong communication skills, both oral and written.\nBe able to work on their feet, lift up to 40 pounds, and work overtime on an as-needed basis\n\nResponsibilities include:\nSetting up CNC equipment with limited supervision, including prove-outs of new processes and all adjustments required to obtain an approved First Article Inspection Report.\nFull dimensional inspections, including lengths, diameters, radii, finishes, and all positional and geometric requirements, both for First Article preparation and in process inspection.\nRunning production quantities while maintaining process capability as well as meeting productivity standards.\nTrouble-shooting and process improvements during both setup and production.\nWorking with teammates to ensure the team meets shared objectives.\nPerforming routine maintenance of equipment.\nUsing software tools to manage tooling inventory, review standards, collect SPC and capture job performance data.\nKeeping the team's work area clean and free from safety hazards.\n\nQualifications: Required skills include:\nStrong blueprint reading and comprehension.
Understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 is a significant plus.\nSkilled in CNC setup and operation functions.
Knowledge of programming is a plus.\nStrong knowledge of production tooling selection and use, including spindle tooling and cutting tools.\nExpert in common inspection and gaging techniques, including micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators, thread gaging, profilometers, and optical comparators.
Working knowledge of CMMs, vision systems and other metrology equipment is a plus.\nFamiliarity with SPC data collection and analysis as a tool to maintain process capability.\nAbility to meet productivity and quality standards while working with a diverse range of components, materials, and equipment.\nBasic computer and software skills.
Strengths in CAD/CAM, SPC, ERP, inventory, or typical office applications is a plus.\n\nMinimum experience:\nThree years machining experience including familiarity with manual and CNC production equipment.\nThree years setup and production experience on CNC equipment.\nDiploma or degree in related technical field is a plus.\nLeadership experience is a plus.\n\nCompensation: $16.00 - $32.00 per hour based on experience Shift differential 15% for 2nd shiftGW Lisk is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
