Job DetailsAs an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for major heavy civil construction projects.
You will analyze project documents, develop quantity takeoffs, assess labor and equipment needs, and collaborate closely with project managers and leadership to ensure bids are complete, competitive, and reflective of project scope as well as risk factors.
This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong construction knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple disciplines.
Your work will directly impact the company’s ability to secure and successfully deliver large-scale projects.Responsibilities: Review and analyze civil construction plans, specifications, and contract documents Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including earthwork, grading, and environmental construction Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to validate scope and pricing assumptions Prepare bid packages and ensure proposals are complete, timely, and competitive Assist in the development of project execution plans and schedules during the estimating phase Participate in constructability reviews to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies Monitor market conditions, material costs, and labor rates affecting estimate accuracy and competitiveness Maintain thorough documentation and traceability of estimating assumptions and dataQualifications: 6+ years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating (Open to a Chief Estimator with proper experience) Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, equipment, and materials Proficiency in quantity takeoff techniques and estimating software/tools Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred but not requiredInterested in hearing more?
