Position Description

Zayo is seeking a network engineer to design and implement customer order for IP/Ethernet services on its European MPLS IP network

Key tasks

• Design network IP service solutions for customers and manage the implementation of these solutions onto Zayo’s global network.

• Maintain records and databases of customer solutions, ensuring all required customer functionality is delivered and installed.

• Ensure the successful completion of the assigned project phase within budgeted time and cost constraints.

• Interact with other teams as part of provisioning and operational processes, including Sales, NOC, Solution Engineers, Project Managers, etc.

• Personal development: update relevant knowledge and skills in line with trends and developments in the field.

• Support the development of Zayo by participating in business planning and liaising with other teams.

• Comply with departmental and corporate controls, procedures, and all internal control processes.

• Maintain the highest ethical and business standards, conducting oneself with the greatest degree of professional integrity.

• Undertake any other ad hoc duties as deemed appropriate by the manager or director.

Key Skill and Experience Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a network engineer, preferably within service provider networks.

• Operational experience with carrier-class routers and switches (experience with Juniper, Nokia, or Cisco required).

• Experience with BGP.

• Good knowledge of Layer-2 and Layer-3 protocols (IPv4/v6, BGP, ISIS, VPLS, IPVPN, MPLS, QinQ, ELINE).

• Juniper and/or Cisco/Nokia network certification is a big plus.

• Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively, maintaining precise attention to detail in a dynamic work environment.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
