Job Purpose
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support our Finance function. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective financial management that supports the business’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records.
Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts in line with company procedures.
Ensure timely and compliant filing of statutory obligations including PAYE, VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Income Tax, and NSSF contributions.
Assist in cashflow management, ensuring effective monitoring of income and expenditures.
Perform bank and ledger reconciliations.
Support preparation of financial statements, including:
Cash Flow Statement
Statement of Comprehensive Income
Statement of Financial Position
Maintain organized financial documentation and filing systems.
Provide support in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Collaborate with management to implement best practices in financial management.
Any other finance-related duties as may be assigned
Key Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration (Accounting/Finance major preferred).
At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience (internship experience will be considered).
Basic knowledge of EFRIS and accounting software (Zoho Books preferred; QuickBooks or Tally can also be considered).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office applications.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.Ability to learn quickly, work under pressure, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Strong ethics, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and marketing.
