We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Banning, California. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented with a strong background in grant accounting and familiarity with government or non-profit industries. As a key contributor to our financial operations, you will ensure compliance with accounting standards and provide valuable insights for budgeting and planning.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Oversee grant budgeting processes and ensure proper allocation of funds.
• Conduct month-end close activities, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports.
• Manage the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support grant planning and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting practices, particularly in government and non-profit sectors.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and controls.
• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to support financial reviews.
• Mentor and guide less experienced staff in accounting best practices.• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with expertise in grant accounting.
• Proven knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Demonstrated experience in government, non-profit, or tribal industries.
• Proficiency in journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes.
• Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
