Join to apply for the Director - Histocompatibility Lab role. The histocompatibility laboratory operates 24/7 and provides services to University Hospital, Ross Heart Hospital, The James Cancer Center, Nationwide Childrens Hospital and Lifeline of Ohio Organ Procurement Organization. The Director is responsible for the overall management of the histocompatibility laboratory, quality of operations and services, and budget management; represents the university at local, regional and national levels as a liaison with professional organizations.
Responsibilities
Ensure laboratory compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Develop and implement laboratory processes and clinical protocols
Oversee testing, staff training, evaluation and budget management
Direct technological staff and collaborate with attending physicians and fellows in solid organ and bone marrow transplantation
Review and oversee all technical aspects of the laboratory
Represent The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center at local, regional and national levels
Minimum Education Required
Doctorate (Professional)
Required Qualifications
Must hold a PhD in Biology or a field related to immunology
Must hold certification as an HLA Histocompatibility Lab director (as defined by the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics by a board approved by Health and Human Services (HHS))
Must maintain Clinical Histocompatibility Diplomate status (D-ABHI) conferred by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics
