Contract: Permanent, Term-Time Only

Hours: 29.6 hours per week (4 days)

Location: North West England (commutable from Preston and surrounding areas)

A Day in the Life of a Senior Psychologist:

In this role, you’ll lead on the delivery of psychological services within a specialist educational environment, supporting students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals to ensure a holistic, trauma-informed approach to care and learning.

What You’ll Do:

Provide psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions

Lead on formulation and care planning for students with complex needs

Supervise and support junior psychology and therapy staff

Contribute to whole-school approaches to wellbeing and inclusion

Support staff training, reflective practice, and development

Liaise with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure joined-up care

What We’re Looking For:

HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, or Educational)

Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs

Strong leadership, communication, and consultation skills

A collaborative, trauma-informed approach to care

Experience in education or specialist settings is desirable but not essential
