Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting for a driven and collaborative Works Transfer Specialist (12-Month FTC). In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing the transfer of production and supply chain activities across facilities, suppliers and partner organisations. This position is based at our Bishops Cleeve site.

Job Purpose

As a Works Transfer Specialist, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth transition of work packages, while maintaining strict compliance with aerospace standards, airworthiness regulations and customer requirements.

You will work closely with colleagues across Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Logistics and Global Commodity Councils, as well as with regulatory authorities, to minimise risk, prevent disruption and maintain continuity of supply all while safeguarding operational readiness.

Main Responsibilities:

Supply Chain & Logistics

Liaise with suppliers, OEMs and internal teams to ensure readiness for transfer

Manage material availability, tooling, fixtures and documentation required at the receiving site

Deliver PPV savings through preferred supplier selection, supplier performance objectives and Commodity Council strategy

Support re-sourcing projects via the SIOP process, collaborating across departments to mitigate LTB, obsolescence and supplier capability/capacity issues

Ensure smooth handover of Procurement operations with minimal disruption to customer delivery

Compliance & Quality

Ensure all transferred activities meet aviation industry standards

Coordinate First Article Inspections (FAI) and approvals for transferred products

Maintain configuration control and ensure technical documentation integrity during transfers

Safeguard data integrity for BAU activities within Procurement

Ensure compliance with ethical trading standards and flow-down of customer quality and delivery requirements

Technical & Engineering Support

Support engineering teams in validating manufacturing and repair capability at receiving facilities

Oversee the transfer of processes, methods and work instructions

Ensure all qualification and certification requirements are met

Stakeholder & Risk Management

Act as the primary point of contact between sending and receiving facilities

Identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with works transfers

Engage with internal and external auditors during transfer validation

Other Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all business policies and procedures, suggesting improvements where appropriate

Support the Procurement team and wider business in cases of supplier non-performance

Undertake other duties as required to support business needs

About You:

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Proven experience in works transfer (aerospace preferred but not essential)

Background in a manufacturing, service or maintenance environment

Strong negotiation, organisational and communication skills

Ability to present clear solutions for stakeholder approval

Commercially minded, with the ability to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems

Solid understanding of contract law and experience collaborating with legal and contracts teams

Knowledge of cost-saving methodologies and ability to deliver year-on-year savings against total acquisition costs

Positive, proactive “can-do” attitude

Strong IT skills, including MS Office and ERP systems (Visual and/or Syteline preferred)

Self-motivated, confident decision-maker within business approval guidelines

Experience in contract lifecycle management tools

Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally as required to deliver contract strategy

Preferred

Degree-level education, or equivalent experience with demonstrable knowledge and skills applied in practice

Membership of CIPS or another relevant professional institute
