Medical Laboratory Technologist

An officer at this level will be responsible to the section In-charge and reports to the Lead, KNH Global HOPE Program Preparing patients ready for specimen collection Collecting clinical specimen for laboratory analysis Preserving the collected specimen under the required preservation condition.

Transporting collected specimen to the respective laboratory Restocking workstation with all needed supplies for specimen collection procedure Updating stockroom as needed Carry out IQC testing and documentation on Point of Care gadgets Performing basic troubleshooting activities and documenting Compliance with biosafety and biosecurity practices of medical laboratory services; Maintaining medical laboratory records and information; Resolving of customer compliant and compliment.

Compliance with regulations, statutory requirements, good professional principles and best practices in laboratory.

Assist in provision of results to the clinical department Any other aligned tasks allocated by the program Person Specifications: For appointment to this grade, an officer must have, Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board Certificate in specimen collection (phlebotomy) Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) Valid Practicing License from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution Complied with the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 NB/ Experience in phlebotomy of pediatric patients will be an added advantage.
