We are looking for a Research and Technology Development (RTD) Engineer to join our Fabrics Operations team in Tampere, Finland. In this role, you will contribute to the development of new products and technologies, focusing on pilot machinery and testing equipment that support our evolving offering.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and executing R&D activities to develop new testing equipment and pilot-scale manufacturing technologies.
Managing technology development projects and supporting broader R&D initiatives across Business and Technology Units.
Driving innovation by identifying new ideas, preparing invention disclosures, and monitoring global technology trends.
Supporting raw material sourcing, cost optimization, and modular usage of materials.
Collaborating with Operations, Quality, and CI teams to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
Contributing to sustainability efforts by promoting responsible R&D and efficient resource use.
Providing technical expertise to cross-functional teams including Procurement, Product Management, and Sales.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
A university degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in R&D, engineering, or technology development.
Strong analytical and experimental skills.
Commercial and market understanding.
Knowledge of modularization, product and equipment design, and sustainability.
Know-how in machine construction, software development, automatization, electrical design, and CE marking.
A proactive and innovative mindset with strong planning and organizational skills.
