The Philosophy Program at the University of Michigan-Flint seeks innovative and enthusiastic applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy position beginning Fall semester 2026.

Responsibilities
Teach a wide variety of upper-level undergraduate courses in areas such as (but not limited to) Metaphysics, Philosophy of Language, History of Philosophy, and Ethics. Must be able to teach a variety of introductory level service Philosophy courses including but not limited to Introduction to Philosophy, Critical Thinking, Logic and Introduction to Ethics.
Research and publish philosophy scholarship
Support Philosophy program growth, as well as engage in constructive service at the department, university and professional levels
Required Qualifications
PhD in Philosophy. An ABD PhD with a dissertation defense by May 2026 will also be considered
Demonstrated evidence of undergraduate teaching excellence
Ability to initiate and carry out research and sustain a program of scholarly publication
Willingness to engage in constructive service at program, department, college, university and professional levels
