Location: Hunter Valley (15 minutes from Scone, NSW) Kia Ora Stud is one of Australia’s leading thoroughbred studs, renowned for breeding and selling elite yearlings at all major sales.
We are seeking seasonal yearling preparation staff to join our team for the upcoming sales season, which will run from late October to the end of March 2026.
The role You’ll work hands-on with yearlings as part of an experienced team to help present them at their best.
Duties include: Daily handling, grooming, feeding and general stable duties Hand walking and parade practice Assisting with farrier/vet routines and sales preparation schedules Paddock checks and basic property upkeep as required About you Reliable with a strong work ethic and team-first mindset Prior experience with handling horses Confident, calm and safety-minded around young horses Good communication and attention to detail Current driver’s licence The right to work in Australia What we offer Seasonal roles across the yearling preparation period (rostered hours, some weekends) Training and support from a highly experienced team Attractive remuneration; on-farm accommodation may be available How to apply Please email your resume to Rosie Millichap at or call for more information.
