Civil Engineer - Road Construction

We're a reputable headhunting firm in Colombo, currently seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in road construction for a leading PLC.

Responsibilities

Project Management: Oversee all phases of road construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Design and Planning: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and surveyors to develop detailed plans and designs for road projects, including grading, drainage, paving, and traffic control.

Site Management: Supervise on-site construction activities, including earthwork, asphalt paving, concrete work, and installation of drainage systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure that all materials and workmanship meet project specifications and industry standards.

Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and technical specifications.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Address their concerns and provide regular project updates.

Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process, such as design discrepancies, material shortages, or unexpected site conditions.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

Experience: Minimum 05 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on road construction.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in civil engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Primavera P6. Strong understanding of surveying, soil mechanics, and construction materials
