Generation Security Officer II
Protects company property against illegal entry, vandalism, theft, and fire. Maintains order and safeguards employees, customers, and company property; provides physical security and access control for the corporate headquarters, generation facilities, general services complex, and other facilities, as required. Uniformed, armed security officer responsible for providing security for personnel and property.
Job Summary:
Controls access to plant sites
Monitors and operates electronic surveillance equipment
Monitors materials and equipment delivered to and removed from plant site
Provides armed security service to plant site
Patrols plant site on foot and in vehicle
Participation in emergency response teams preferred, but not mandatory
Attend plant functions and make presentations as needed
Job Requirements:
Required minimum three (3) years law enforcement or military police or private/industrial security experience
Required ability to use and maintain a firearm and pass annual mandatory qualifying tests
Required maintain and possess a valid Alabama state pistol permit
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Basic computer knowledge using Windows based systems including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and other systems
Strong written and oral communication skills
Good problem-solving skills and decision-making skills
Ability to learn and enforce plant security policies and procedures
Ability to obtain a pistol permit
Ability to pass annual firearm qualifications
Ability to direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic
Ability to prioritize and perform security work in the absence of direct supervision
Ability to work rotating off day shifts, nights, days, weekends, holidays, during inclement weather and overtime
Ability to operate office equipment
Ability to wear and maintain personal protection equipment (PPE)
Must possess a valid driver license and operate a motor vehicle in various conditions
Must pass background investigation, physical, drug and alcohol test and required psychological screening
Ability to perform physical activity including, but not limited to, running, walking and/or lifting
Ability to function as a team member and individual in low to high stress situations
