They ensure the safe and effective use of medical imaging technologies and radiation therapies, contributing to accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care.

Medical Physicists collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize radiation safety, improve treatment accuracy, and support clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop, implement, and monitor quality assurance programs for radiation oncology equipment, diagnostic imaging systems, and nuclear medicine technologies.\nPerform routine calibration, testing, and maintenance of medical imaging and radiation equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.\nAssist in treatment planning and dose calculations for radiation therapy, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols and safety standards.\nCollaborate with radiation oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to design and optimize treatment plans.\nPerform dosimetry calculations and verify radiation dose delivery accuracy.\nEnsure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations related to radiation safety, imaging protocols, and radiation protection.\nAssist in the development and implementation of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures related to imaging and radiation therapy.\nConduct quality control and audits of imaging and treatment processes to ensure compliance and safety.\nProvide training and support to clinical staff on the safe and effective use of imaging and radiation therapy equipment.\nAnalyze and interpret clinical data to support treatment optimization and patient care improvement.\nParticipate in clinical research, offering expertise on imaging technology, radiation therapy, and quality improvement initiatives.\nMaintain accurate documentation and record-keeping related to equipment calibration, dosimetry, and patient safety.\n\n\nQualifications:\n\nEducation:\n\nMaster’s or Doctorate degree in Medical Physics, Radiation Oncology Physics, or a related field.\n\n\nLicensure:\n\nCertification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Medical Physics or Diagnostic Imaging Physics preferred.\n\n\nExperience:\n\nClinical experience in medical physics, preferably in radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging, or nuclear medicine\n\n\n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #33447651.
