Job Opportunity: Locum Nurse Practitioner - Hematology Oncology
Join a dedicated team at a prominent Cancer Center in Wheaton, MD, where you will play a critical role in providing quality care in an outpatient setting. The practice operates for 3-5 days a week, offering a supportive environment that includes a part-time Hematology/Oncology practitioner, a breast surgeon, and surgical oncologists, along with radiation oncologists. This is a wonderful chance to contribute to a facility focused on adult and geriatric patient populations in a collaborative team atmosphere. Job Responsibilities:
Participate in Tumor Board meetings.
Manage and prescribe chemotherapy treatments, including intravascular and intrathecal administration.
Perform FNA/Biopsy procedures and manage VAD/CV Catheters.
Order tests and images as required.
Provide care management for chronic conditions within a patient load of approximately 70-80 patients, mainly following up with chronic management cases.
Work closely with a patient navigator, social worker, medical assistant, and practice manager to optimize patient care. Qualifications:
Active Maryland State License (REQUIRED at time of submission)
Active DEA and CDS (REQUIRED at time of submission)
BLS or ACLS certification (REQUIRED to obtain privileges)
Board Certified in a relevant specialty
Preferred local candidates for reduced travel costs
Willingness to work either 3 days/week or 5 days/week, as preferred License and Certification Requirements:
Active Maryland State License
Active MD DEA and CDS
BLS or ACLS certification
