Job Description

Geriatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Geriatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. The successful candidate will possess charge nurse experience and will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with psychiatric conditions in a geriatric setting.

Shift Details

Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)

Contract Length: 91 Weeks

Start Dates: Every other Monday, beginning on 9/22

Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

On-Call Requirement: None

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting

Active Virginia or Compact RN License at the time of submission

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience with Cerner electronic medical records system is essential

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is required; will be obtained on-site if not currently active

COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations or declinations are required

Prior travel nursing experience is required

Virginia psychiatric background is necessary

Work Environment

This position is in a teaching hospital environment where you will frequently interact with students and new hires. All team members, including travelers, are expected to foster a supportive culture.
