Seeking an experienced and dynamic AWS Cloud Platform Engineer with 10+ years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in AWS Cloud Platform Engineering and Administration.
The ideal candidate will provide hands-on technical expertise to design, implement, and manage AWS resources, drive transformation initiatives, and mentor team members.
Strong experience in automation, containerization, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering is required. Essential Functions:
30% Installs, tunes, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains computer systems relevant to supported applications, including operating system administration, user account management, disaster recovery strategy, and networking configuration.
25% Develops and implements techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoots incidents to recover services, and supports root cause analysis.
20% Evaluates new systems by performing in-depth tests, researching software/products, determining integration issues, developing performance tests, and building automation for business processes.
15% Improves engineering knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, establishing networks, and benchmarking best practices.
10% Mentors junior and senior team members. Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master s preferred).
In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of relevant work experience.
10+ years of overall IT experience with at least 5 years in AWS Cloud Automation and Administration.
3 5 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
Strong leadership experience driving transformation initiatives.
Hands-on expertise with AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, ELB, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, EKS, etc.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, CDK).
Strong scripting skills in Python (Boto3) and Bash.
Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, EKS, Docker).
Knowledge of DevOps toolchains (Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Crucible).
Familiarity with observability tools (New Relic, DataDog, AppDynamics, Jaeger).
Minimum of one AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.).
Exposure to AI/ML solutions leveraging AWS services (Kendra, SageMaker, Lambda, Bedrock).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments. Preferred Qualifications:
FinOps Certification.
Additional programming skills in Java, Go, or Groovy.
Knowledge of service mesh (Istio, AWS App Mesh, OpenShift Service Mesh).
Familiarity with container security tools (Twistlock, Aqua, Sysdig).
Experience migrating applications from on-prem to AWS Cloud. Roles And Responsibilities:

Guide adoption of modern cloud-native design and architecture patterns.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, patching, and upgrades.
Mentor peers and collaborate across engineering teams.
Promote modern application design, best practices, and security.
Monitor enterprise systems for stability, scalability, and performance. Licenses/Certifications:
Minimum of one AWS Cloud certification required.
FinOps Certification is a plus.
