Job Description
Rock Machinery is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Welder/Repair Technician to perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on aggregate and heavy equipment. This position is critical to ensuring the safe and reliable operation of crushers, screens, conveyors, and other large machinery used in the aggregate industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong welding skills, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Perform structural and mechanical welding repairs on heavy equipment, including crushers, screens, hoppers, chutes, and conveyor systems.
Use MIG, stick, and flux-core welding techniques to repair cracks, rebuild worn parts, and fabricate new components.
Read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and welding symbols to plan and execute repairs accurately.
Cut, fit, and assemble metal parts using torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
Inspect equipment to identify damage or structural weaknesses and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
Operate heavy equipment (such as forklifts or overhead cranes) to move and position large components when necessary.
Maintain welding equipment and shop tools in proper working order.
Document all repairs, parts used, and work performed.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Collaborate with mechanics, service technicians, and supervisors to coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
Requirements
Proven experience in welding and repair of heavy equipment or industrial machinery.
Proficiency in MIG, stick, and/or flux-core welding; certifications preferred but not required.
Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and repair structural and wear-related issues.
Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
Skilled in metal cutting, grinding, and fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with aggregate equipment (crushers, screens, conveyors) highly preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work in a shop environment.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
CDL or forklift certification is a plus.Company Description
