Credentialing requires up to 90 days before candidate can start.Completion of an Accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program is required.- Board Certified by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)Outpatient position at an Ambulatory Surgery CenterMix of 8-10-12 hour shifts with opportunity to transition to longer shifts if desired.No on call or weekend shifts!Average number of patients: VariesAdministers intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures.

Potentially administers anesthesia to all ages and A.S.A.

classes of patients, including geriatrics and pediatrics.

Provides airway management services as needed throughout the hospitalProvides leadership in the professional practice settingSupports and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleaguesDelegates tasks to assistive personnel in a respectful professional mannerIdentify patient problem and collaborates with the Anesthesia / Surgeon / Perioperative team in the selection of appropriate interventions (tasks)Interacts with members of the health care team to plan and coordinate the perioperative carePromotes a healthy work environment through promotion of professional communication standards, commitment to co-workers, and positive problem resolutionConducts appropriate pre-anesthetic assessments, and document findings.In collaboration with the Anesthesiologist, determines the appropriate anesthetic plan of management, manages all aspects of anesthesia care to include preoperative, perioperative, and immediate postoperative careMaintains complete and accurate documentation of care for all procedures.Provides airway management and/or intubations for emergent, non-emergent, and resuscitation situations throughout the hospitalAnticipates and exceeds patients and customers’ expectations that meet all elements of the medical facilityIdentifies services and care improvement ideas and act on them to create excellent customer experiencesDemonstrates, supports, and assumes personal accountability for consistently upholding team members to the standards across the System and adhering to Henry Ford Health policies and proceduresRecognizes the unique contribution all health care team members contribute to the patient experience.Independently uses and documents the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal focused, individualized, safe, age specific care for all patients including those with complex pathophysiological needs and/or psychosocial needsSeeks to understand and incorporate both safe practices and evidence-based practices into daily nursing careMaintains compliance with regulatory standards regarding practice, environment, and documentationDirects and delegates nursing care based on patient acuity and staff competency that is consistent with the nurse’s obligation to provide optimum patient careParticipate in quality improvement/ patient safety initiatives and programsParticipates in professional development and continuous learningContributes to establishing, maintaining, and improving the work-place environment that encourages respectful interactions with colleagues, support of peers, and identification of issues that need to be addressedMaintains knowledge and skills in appropriate technologyProvides education for staff, colleagues, patients, and/or families- Precepts new staff and students as requested- Provides and documents individualized patient and family educationMaintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialtyIntegrates research findings into practiceParticipate in community activities and/or professional organizations.Represents the medical facility by promoting an atmosphere of care, concern, pride, and respect to internal and external customersMaintains awareness of personal actions and activities and the impact on the image of nursingAware of financial implications of actions and decisions based on factors related to safety and effectivenessSupports the unit financially by using resources in a cost-effective manner.Ability to work harmoniously in collaborative situations with Anesthesiologists and other health care providersFrequent walking, bending, lifting may be required to perform dutiesWork is generally in an operating room environment, but can be in Radiology, ICU, ER, or wherever nurse anesthesia services are required in the hospitalWorking conditions are variable with exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards.
