What you will do

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join a cardiology medical group in Oxnard. The ideal candidate will provide specialized patient care in a cardiology practice, including conducting patient assessments, diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions, and assisting with treatment planning. Key responsibilities include performing physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests such as EKGs and echocardiograms, managing medication therapy, and educating patients on heart health and disease prevention. The PA will work in collaboration with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Strong clinical skills, teamwork, and a commitment to advancing cardiovascular health are essential. Maintaining active licensure, certifications, and compliance with state and federal regulations is required.

Physician Assistant – Cardiology Summary of Job Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and physical examinations focused on cardiovascular health

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions under physician supervision and collaboration

Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and lab work

Prescribe and adjust medications in accordance with cardiology treatment protocols and state regulations

Assist cardiologists in developing and implementing individualized treatment and management plans

Provide education and counseling to patients and families on cardiovascular health, risk factors, and medication adherence

Collaborate closely with cardiologists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR)

Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and quality care standards

Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with advancements in cardiology practice

Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and practice-specific regulations, maintaining active PA licensure and certifications

Qualifications:

Current and active Physician Assistant license in the State of California

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification

Minimum of one year Physician Assistant experience in cardiology or related specialty (preferred)

Current DEA license (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment)

Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Strong knowledge of cardiovascular disease management, treatment protocols, and pharmacology

Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills

Proof of MMR and Varicella vaccinations or titers

Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 months

Current Annual Health Clearance

Reliable source of transportation
