Job Description
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is ideal for a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) with experience in school-based settings. Serving a K-12 educational environment in Zuni, NM, this contract role spans the full school year and offers the chance to support students' developmental and functional needs within their academic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs
Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional participation in school activities
Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to promote student progress
Document student progress and maintain accurate records compliant with school and legal requirements
Participate in school meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development
Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapist
Prior experience working in a school environment with K-12 students
Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices and school regulations
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs
Location: Zuni, New Mexico, serving a K-12 public school setting.
