GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Responsible for the overall operation, management, and coordination of an agricultural center that hosts various events, focusing on agricultural exhibitions and livestock shows.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Event Planning and Coordination: Manage the entire event lifecycle, including scheduling, contracting events, ensuring appropriate facility setup (room/facility layout, equipment, menus/catering, themed décor, signage, etc.), and managing registration processes.
Facility Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the center, including staff supervision, facility maintenance (cleaning, upkeep, repairs), ensuring equipment is in working order, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Livestock Show Activities: Plan, coordinate, and conduct livestock shows and agricultural fair activities. This may include working with breed associations, sales managers, and exhibitors, providing technical assistance, and overseeing livestock care and handling aspects.
Budgeting and Financial Management: Help manage the center's budget, track expenses, secure funding (grants, sponsorships), and handle financial reporting.
Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and groups including staff, visitors, event participants, vendors, sponsors, and community members.
Customer Service: Provide excellent service to visitors and users of the facility.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
An associate’s degree in agriculture, agricultural science, or a related field is preferred. 2-3 years of experience in agriculture facility management, event planning with some supervisory experience.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with agricultural laws and regulations.
Proficiency in farm management or event management software is a plus.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions, if applicable.
