Urologist Position at Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Outpatient Clinic
The Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Outpatient Clinic in Columbus, Ohio is seeking to hire a Urologist, who reports to the Surgery Service to serve Veterans at the main facility with potential to rotate to Community Based Outpatient Clinics within the Chalmers P. Wylie catchment area. Responsibilities include:
Providing direct patient care to patients and clinical guidance
Participating in the progressive improvement of the service delivery
Responsible for all aspects of medical care and providing or assisting residents and/or the mid-level practitioner in the process of evaluation and treatment of the Urology patients
Evaluating the patient to assess changes in the physical and mental status
Writing a progress note in the patient's chart
Coordinating with providers within their own and outside of their own Service Line, and with other VHA facilities or community providers
Ultimately responsible to ensure barriers for Veterans and staff are minimized in order to promote a positive work environment
Fostering positive working relationships with staff, peers and Veterans
Performing consultations within their own and other service lines as indicated
Providing clinical care, graduate and undergraduate medical education, and scientific research as appropriate
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 4:00PM
Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship
Proficient in written and spoken English
Must pass pre-employment physical examination
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
United States Citizenship
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training
Proficiency in spoken and written English
Preferred Experience: No less than 3 years experience as a practicing Urologist
Physical Requirements: Physicians should be physically and mentally capable to perform the examinations, formulate the diagnosis and treatment plan, and educate residents.
