IT Project Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented individual who thrives at the intersection of programming and project management. This role is ideal for someone with strong SQL expertise and a knack for leading initiatives from concept to completion. While EDI experience is a plus, it is not required—we value eagerness to learn just as much as experience. This position is on-site at our Centerbrook, CT location. We are not offering relocation assistance at this time. Duties/Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain SQL-based applications, scripts, and reports

Manage technical projects from planning through execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams

Translate business requirements into functional specifications and development tasks

Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and ensure adherence to scope and quality

Troubleshoot and optimize database performance and queries

Document code, project updates, and workflows to maintain clarity and consistency

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize tasks and manage expectations

Support and potentially expand EDI workflows (optional—training can be provided)Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning.

Proficient in SQL experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL

Proven ability to manage projects in a technical environment

Solid communication and organizational skills, with a proactive problem-solving mindset

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting

Familiarity with EDI concepts, tools, or standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT) preferred

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science-related field preferred

Related computer experience required

Experience with data integration or middleware platforms

Exposure to ERP systems or supply chain workflows is a bonus

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
