About the Role
Lockheed Martin is looking for ambitious and hardworking interns to work on a number of exciting projects at our Center for Innovation and Security Solutions in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi.
The intern will report to the manager of the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation & Security Solutions but will also take tasking directions from Lockheed Martin mentors. The Space Exploration Project includes roles within Space Exploration and Systems Engineering.
The internship session is anticipated to start in October 2025 and will run for 8-11 weeks, which can be extended based on performance.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
All candidates:
For UAE national applicants: open to all universities.
For resident applicants: must be enrolled in a University in the UAE.
GPA Higher than or equal to 3.0. (open to all STEM degrees (engineering), business, IT…).
IELTS score of 6.0 and above. (and/or other equivalent tests).
Excellent in using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) platform.

Space Exploration
Familiar with space design concepts and space dynamics.
Experience with robotic and autonomous systems.
Experience with programming in Python/MATLAB.
Familiar with modern design tools and software’s such as CAD, Solidworks, Inventor, Creo, etc.
Familiar with different concepts such as kinematics, dynamics, structural analysis, electrical systems and related concepts.
Good research fundamentals.
Systems Engineering
Design, implement, and execute test suites, conforming to testing and documentation standards.
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including system architecture, design, and integration.
Familiarity with the operating systems.
Product development life cycle.
Ability to analyze system requirements, performance metrics, and constraints to optimize system functionality.
Excellent understanding of project management principles to assist in planning and executing tasks within deadlines.
Analytical model development using MATLAB.
Familiar with GUI tools such as JavaFX, Java Swing, JavaScript, AngularJS Framework.
