Production Scheduler

Position Summary / Essential Functions:

Schedule Development & Management

Develop and publish daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.

Optimize production sequences to minimize changeovers, maximize throughput, and ensure efficient utilization of machinery (e.g., roll formers, welding stations, assembly lines, and crating).

Adjust schedules proactively in response to unforeseen events such as material shortages, equipment breakdowns, quality issues, parts orders, or expedited customer requests.

Material Coordination

Collaborate closely with the Purchasing and Inventory Control teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.

Monitor material readiness and communicate potential delays or impacts on the production schedule.

Capacity Planning

Work with Production Supervisors and the Supply Chain & Operations Manager to understand current and future production capabilities, labor availability, and equipment constraints.

Identify potential bottlenecks and propose solutions to optimize flow and meet production targets.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Track and report on key production metrics, including schedule adherence, on-time delivery (OTD), production efficiency, and capacity utilization.

Analyze variances and root causes for deviations from the schedule.

Communication & Collaboration

Act as the central point of contact for production scheduling, effectively communicating schedule plans, changes, and impacts to Sales, Customer Service, Production, and Purchasing departments.

Facilitate daily/weekly production meetings to review schedules, address issues, and align departmental efforts.

Continuous Improvement

Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance scheduling processes, reduce lead times, and improve overall operational efficiency.

Identify opportunities to optimize resource allocation and workflow.

Possess strong attention to detail, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes within a manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex/incomplete data.

Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

Pay: $50,000-75,000

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
