As a Technology & Cyber Risks Student, you will support the team responsible for proactively assessing technology and security risks across IT, OT, and third-party environments. This role also contributes to our governance, threat modeling, threat intelligence, and training and awareness initiatives.
The Technology & Cyber Risks team sits within our Security and Compliance Department and plays a central role in identifying, assessing, and managing risks before they impact the organization.
Responsibilities
Assisting in risk assessments for IT, OT and third-party vendors, documenting findings and tracking remediation progress.
Supporting threat modeling activities for new projects, technologies, and applications.
Monitoring and triaging threat intelligence reports to identify emerging risks relevant to the organization.
Assisting in the development of governance artifacts such as risk registers, control assessments, and compliance reporting.
Contributing to security awareness and training programs, including preparing materials and supporting internal campaigns.
Documenting processes, updating standard operating procedures, and helping to create risk dashboards and reports.
Your Skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and an interest in risk management methodologies.
Your Experience:
Currently enrolled in an IT program
Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school
Completed or pursuing coursework in cybersecurity fundamentals, governance, risk management, and compliance.
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27005, NIST 800-53, ISA/IEC 62443) is an asset.
