Position Overview
The Concrete Pump Operator is a critical role in our construction operations. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining concrete pumps, ensuring safe and efficient handling of concrete at various job sites. As a Concrete Pump Operator, you will work closely with supervisors, fellow crew members, drivers and customers to guarantee that all concrete placement adheres to project specifications, safety regulations, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate concrete pumps to pour concrete at assigned construction sites
· Set up, clean, and maintain pump equipment and associated hoses and accessories
· Coordinate with site supervisors to ensure proper placement and timing of concrete pours
· Monitor the pump operation, troubleshoot issues, and perform basic repairs and adjustments as needed
· Inspect and maintain the pump truck according to company and regulatory standards
· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety protocols and industry guidelines
· Communicate effectively with fellow team members, contractors, and clients
· Document daily activities, including pump log, maintenance records, and any incidents
· Transport pump equipment to and from job sites using company vehicles
· Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies as required
· Complete pre- and post-operation inspections and address any mechanical concerns
· Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, vehicles, and work areas
· Comply with all company policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
· Valid Class B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or equivalent, with a clean driving record
· Minimum of 6 months experience operating concrete pump
· Solid understanding of concrete pump operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
· Strong mechanical aptitude and basic repair skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a variety of outdoor conditions
· Keen attention to detail and safety orientation
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Proven reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
· Familiarity with different types of concrete pumps (boom, line, trailer-mounted, etc.)
· Knowledge of concrete material properties and placement techniques
· Ability to train and mentor entry-level operators
· Fluency in English; multilingual abilities a plus
