Purpose
The Fr. Virgil Cordano Center (FVCC) Assistant supports the Program Director with the daily operations of the Center. This role involves helping implement program components that align with goals established by the Board of Directors. The Assistant ensures adherence to administrative policies and responds to the needs of clients present at the Center.About the Organization

The FVCC Assistant reports directly to the Program Director.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Promote FVCC values of welcome, respect, community, and joy
Support administrative operations alongside the Program Director, staff, and volunteers
Answer phones and greet members, volunteers, visitors, and partner agency staff
Assist with member intake and registration
Help maintain a safe and respectful environment by monitoring the premises and enforcing membership policies
Build and maintain professional, compassionate relationships with all individuals
Carry out special projects and assignments as directed
Distribute hygiene items and mail to members
Help maintain the Center’s cleanliness and assist with laundry (on-site and off-site)
Provide support in the kitchen as needed
Track and replenish supply inventories
Perform general clerical duties
Assist in preparing reports for the Program Director

Passion for the mission and values of the FVCC
Strong desire to work with homeless and underserved individuals
Degree in Social Work preferred (or equivalent experience)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Excellent communication skills rooted in compassion and empathy
Ability to work effectively with a diverse team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to de-escalate conflict and resolve problems calmly
Basic computer proficiencyRequirements
Must pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting
Must provide proof of a negative TB test prior to employment
COVID-19 vaccination is required for this positionSchedule
Part-time position requiring three shifts per week, Tuesday through Thursday, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Any schedule changes must be approved in advance by the Program Director.Compensation
